Hi, I am Jennifer and welcome to my art corner. I reside in the Houston, Texas area with my husband Kraig and our beloved rescue dogs. My passion for animals extends beyond our home, as I am actively involved in fostering and supporting local rescue groups. I am a dedicated advocate for adopting dogs and cats from shelters and rescues. If you're considering adding a furry friend to your family, please visit your local shelters and rescues. From a young age, I discovered my love for drawing. Animals have always been one of my greatest passions. Blessed with many gifts, I am a self-taught artist who enjoys learning and experimenting with different techniques. I find immense joy in creating pet portraits and paintings of animals and flowers. My goal is to capture the expression and spirit of your beloved pet in a way that will be cherished for years to come. Each portrait I create is infused with the love and compassion I have for animals. Working in a realistic style, I strive to capture every nuance that makes your pet unique and special. From the fur and specific markings to the eyes, I aim to recreate the soul of your pet looking back at you. For me, painting animals, especially pets, is more than just creating a pretty picture—it's a heartfelt passion. In addition to my pet portraits, I have been exploring loose brush strokes and working with more vibrant colors in my other artwork. This journey has allowed me to expand my artistic horizons and bring a fresh perspective to my creations. I love nature and being outdoors, whether it's gardening, taking walks, or spending time with pets. These activities inspire my work and bring me closer to the subjects I love to paint. I work from photographs that are emailed to me. It's helpful to have a few different photos to work from, with the best ones being well-lit and close-up images of your pet's face.
